The Story Behind the Stats
I live for words. Words have continually rescued me from arduous living environments and my own mental masochism. I love everything about words. I love their potency and their ability to be strung together with artistic nuance. I love the craft of writing. But I also enjoy other creative endeavors like photography, djing, marketing, hell, even knitting. A good amount of my energy is spent by being creative with my creative career and not limiting myself. Basically, I’m taking a page out of Kanye’s book.
I was born in Kingston, Jamaica to two artists whose love for their respected fields outlived their affection for one another. In the plot twist of the decade, I moved from diverse and culturally stimulating Kingston (and a year in New York City) to racially/culturally homogenous and creatively stifling rural Wisconsin. Talk about culture shock. I escaped Wisconsin as soon as I blew out the candles on my 18th birthday cake. But it wasn’t all bad. Wisconsin has the best cheese after all.
It’s been three years since I left Wisconsin to attend The New School University and I’m not looking back. I have been blessed to be provided with great opportunities that have helped me grow as a creative and a person. And since I’m living that post-graduate life, I’m looking for my next adventure.
